Until now, if you wanted super fresh chicken, beef or other meat, vegetables and fruit, you had to find a farm to buy it, or grow it yourself. Well…here’s the thing: some of us don’t want to be chicken farmers, but we still love fresh chicken.
Zaycon has you covered! I was given the opportunity to try out the Zaycon experience and I have to tell you, I am a customer for life!
Here’s the scenario: you check the Zaycon website for food ‘events’ that are coming to an area near you. For me, the chicken even was taking place at a church about 20 minutes from my house. You place your order and then on the day of the ‘event’, you pick it up. Upon arriving at the church, I was directed into the parking lot where I rolled down my car window (didn’t even have to get out of the car!) and a representative had my order on a clipboard. She checked me in and motioned me forward, where someone came to my car window, asked where I wanted the chicken, and then put it in my car trunk for me. This entire transaction took less than one minute. Try doing that at the super market!
And I don’t think that’s even the best part! When I got home, I took the big box of chicken into the kitchen to separate it into gallon-sized freezer bags for storing. These chicken breasts were so big that they looked like turkey breasts! I kid you not! My entire family gets an entire meal out of one chicken breast. If I had one thawed out right now, I’d take a picture so you could see it!
The chicken is only one day from the farm when you get it, and the taste is incredible. There is really nothing comparable to really fresh food. And the price was equally impressive; less than $2 per pound for boneless, skinless chicken breast. It came in a 40-lb box, so I have enough chicken to last for several months. I packed it so that it doesn’t take a ton of space in my freezer.
Something else that I did on pick up day was to cook and cube some of the chicken and freeze it for chicken casseroles, salads and pot pie. All I have to do is thaw it, and I’m good to go!
