This book, Song of the Brokenhearted, by Sheila Walsh and Cindy Coloma, is a beautiful portrait of grace, hope and redemption. At times in our lives, we have to find a way to let go of the past, and the character in this book, Ava, finally learns to do just that. But it’s not an easy road, and it’s a long, long journey.
Ava had what appeared to be a perfect life, if you were on the outside looking it. Her family came complete with two ‘perfect’ kids. But then her daughter called of her upcoming wedding, and her son struggled with addiction. Her husband’s company was also going through some trials and tribulations, all of which were embarrassing to the family.
Ava heads to her childhood home…somewhere she vowed never to return to. But through this journey, she found the redemptive power of love and faith.
