Here’s the scenario: you’ve gotten up at the crack of dawn this Friday, Black Friday, to go out and grab the hottest, greatest, best, coolest items ever at the greatest prices. By about 11am you are exhausted and in need of good food and maybe a mimosa (or two). Too bad you can’t get Sunday Brunch on Friday!
But wait!!! You can! I have got super news for all you people who love Sunday Brunch. This weekend, (Friday through Sunday), Bonefish Grill is serving brunch from 10 to 2pm! And what a brunch it is!
I love brunch. There’s just something decadent about lounging around and eating great food accompanied by something ‘champagne infused’ that just makes me feel that all is right in my world. (Okay, it’s probably the bubbly, but whatever).
We visited Bonefish Grill for brunch yesterday, and I have to say it’s one of the best brunches I’ve ever had. And I’m so excited that they’re adding Friday and Saturday brunch hours this week.
First of all, for less than $20, you can choose the Endless Bubbles Brunch. This is the best deal around (and what we chose). You’ll have your choice of an omelet, brunch favorite, or one of several different kinds of eggs benedict accompanied by endless bellinis, mimosas, or blackberry sangria. They have a passion fruit cocktail that is awesome! And get this: if you have a bellini first and want to switch to a mimosa or sangria…no problem.
I started with the Peach Bellini (fresh peach, peach puree and champagne) and hubby had the Blackberry Sangria. Aaaah. So good.
And although it may not be a typical brunch item, every time we go to Bonefish Grill, we have to have the Bang Bang Shrimp. If you have never had them, they are slap your mama good! Did I mention that I had another Bellini to accompany the shrimp??
As we were enjoying the shrimp, our waiter, Robert, came by with some fresh bread and pesto dipping oil. He did a great job of explaining exactly what was in the pesto in case we were vegan (not) or gluten free or had allergies. Luckily for us, we eat about everything, but it was great that it was explained.
And then on to the main event: our entrees! We sampled a few different things and when I go back for the Bonefish Brunch (and I absolutely will!), it’s going to be hard to make a choice!
We tried the Surf and Turf Eggs Benedict: toasted english muffin, filet mignon, lobster, poached eggs and hollandaise. Oh my word. We just looked at each other and swooned. The eggs were perfectly poached (this is not an easy thing to master!). The sauce had a perfect consistency and the filet and lobster added up to make this dish rich and decadent. You can choose potatoes au gratin or asparagus to accompany this meal.
We also tried the Oscar Omelet: asparagus, crab, smoked mozzarella, and basil lemon butter. It was delicious, with the asparagus and cheese blending together for a party in your mouth.
And finally we tried the Bang Bang Shrimp Crispy Tacos. These are perfect little hand sized tacos in crispy wonton shells that have a delightful crunch. And you already know how I feel about the Bang Bang Shrimp! I think I had another Bellini at this point.
We finished off our meal with an amazing Creme Brulee (and did I mention that they have Creme Brulee French Toast on the brunch menu???).
Overall, the meal was superb. We had zero complaints. You don’t have to choose the endless bubbles option – all of the brunch items are available on their own. But those bellinis sure are good!
