Valentine’s Day Chocolate Covered Oreos!

Since Valentines Day is in a few days, I wanted to share an easy, frugal treat, or gift idea that you can make for your loved ones. Chocolate Covered Valentines Oreos are super easy to make, and can be the perfect “frugal” gift idea for loved ones! They are also so incredibly delicious..as if Oreos were not good enough by themselves..he he..

Ingredients:

• Double Boiler
• Milk Chocolate semi-sweet baking morsels-or any flavor your prefer
• Oreos
• Valentine’s Day sprinkles/jimmies
• cookie sheet-for laying out your dipped cookies
• wax paper

Directions:

Using a double boiler, melt your chocolate. I say a double boiler instead of a microwave because it melts the chocolate without ruining the consistency and it also allows for a nice “dip” for cookies, fruit, & more. Be sure to frequently stir your morsels and chocolate.

Prepare your “toppings or accents”. I used a variety of different Valentine’s Day themed jimmies and decorative toppings.

Using a spoon or tongs, dip your Oreos into your melted chocolate. Roll the cookie around until it is fully covered. Place it on your wax paper.

Choose which topping you’d like to add to it and sprinkle it along the top of them item

Repeat

I let my Chocolate Covered “Valentine” Oreos chill in my entry (covered of course) since it is winter-it worked wonderfully to set the chocolate! I let them harden for 2 hours before eating.
