There are so many great things about this book that it’s hard to narrow them down to just a few! Channing O’Banning, a 4th grader, is not happy! A new kid at school, Marco, has turned the head of her bestie, and she is determined to make him the enemy. But they find themselves in the Costa Rican Rainforest, and his knowledge becomes her lifeline.
This book is not only delightful, it’s educational and has a superb moral focus. Kids are not only entranced with Channing’s drawing and art ability, but they will learn about another culture, another language, ‘going green’ and why we need to protect our forests.
If you want a great (and educational) book for your little guys – this one fits the bill!
