Today, the FedEx man was especially great, bringing us a box of Rudolph Foods Southern Recipe Pork Rinds. Yummo! The great folks at Rudolph Foods were kind enough to send several flavors so that we could try them and tell you what we think!
Well, here’s what we think: they’re fantastic!
The first flavor that we tried was the original flavor. They’re the perfect snack; crunchy, a little salty, and very satisfying. They also sent barbecue, which just might be my favorite. The barbecue flavor has a dry rub of spices that reminds you of your favorite barbecue chip.
As I delved deeper into my box of goodies, I was really surprised when I reached in and pulled out a bag of salt and vinegar flavored pork rinds. This is a new one to me, and oh, my goodness! They are really, really good! When you crunch into one of these, a bit of tart, vinegary goodness hits your taste buds – not too much; just enough to have you licking your lips.
The last flavor is hot and spicy – and they are! They have just enough of a kick to make you yell, ‘Bam’!
Each bag of 7-8 ounces has zero Trans Fat, zero carbs, and about 160 calories. For those of you watching your carb intake, this is a great snack in moderation.
Here’s what Rudolph Foods has to say about their pork rinds:
“Combining the best tasting ingredients with rich pride, we crafted our fresh and crunchy pork rinds with the spirit of the South. For over 50 years, our recipe for making the best tasting pork rinds has been a true Southern favorite.” I’ll tell you what…this Southern girl agrees!
This is a great snack for parties, tailgating, or to keep on hand in the man cave. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re going to go rip into another bag!
