Recently, Barb from Barbara’s Hand-Made Cookie Pies sent me one of her delicious Oreo Creme cookie pies to try out and share with you guys! (Oh, if you were only here to have a taste!)
We decided that we would include this in a special ‘back-to-school’ celebration, and the cookie pie came beautifully packaged with super cute back-to-school ribbons and bows. (The bow is so cute that my little niece has grabbed it for her hair!) This is also a perfect gift to give teachers in that first “tough week back”. After opening this delicious dessert, I wasn’t sure how long I could protect it from sneaky, wandering forks aching to snitch a bite! As it turns out…not long!
The aroma itself was enticing, and we almost considered having dessert first!
But we did the adult thing (sigh…it’s hard to be the grown up!) and waited until after dinner…about 2 seconds after dinner!
The cookie pie has a 100% natural butter cookie crust, which is baked from a family recipe handed down from three generations! You can just taste the ‘family recipe’ part of this flaky, butter, delicious crust. Personally, I think I could eat the crust by itself!
The crust is then filled with popular fillings and toppings (like our Oreo Creme). It’s a cookie in a cookie!
