Product Review: Purex Fels-Naptha

Recently, the folks at Purex, makers of Fels-Naptha sent me a Fels-Naptha laundry soap bar to try out. I have to admit, although I had heard of Fels-Naptha, I had absolutely no idea what it was or how it was used!

Purex Fels-Naptha is a powerful laundry bar that works overtime to remove greasy, oily stains, perspiration, and ring-around-the-collar. With over 100 years of removing America’s stains, you can rest assured that this laundry bar knows how to tackle your toughest stains.

All you’ve got to do is rub the stain with a wet bar of Purex Fels-Naptha and let it sit for a few minutes. Then wash your clothes as you normally would and say farewell to tough stains for good.

You can also make your own laundry soap – it’s cheap and natural!

Powdered Laundry Soap

2 cups finely shredded Fels Naptha or Zote grated soap
1 cup washing soda
1 cup borax

Combine ingredients, and store in an airtight plastic container. Use 2 tablespoons per laundry load.

Use vinegar as a fabric softener, and hang-dry clothing at least part of the time. Keep in mind that sunshine bleaches naturally. And most clothing and towels don’t have to be washed after a single use.

Buy a bar today! It’s only about $2 a bar!
