Product Review: Mrs. Freshley’s Snack Cakes

Recently, the great folks at Mrs. Freshley’s sent the Coupondipity Household an assortment of their yummy snack cakes to try out…and share our thought with you!

Here’s something that you may not have known: did you realize how incredibly easy it is to make a homemade dessert with Mrs. Freshley’s products? No? Super Easy, as it turns out.

We first attempted the honey bun bread pudding, but due to a problem with our recipe, we had to put it on hold. By the time I reassembled all of the ingredients – the honey buns had mysteriously disappeared. I think that it’s a distinct possibility that Mr. Coupondipity is the culprit, seeing as how he would eat honey buns after I went to bed at night!

I’m going to share the honey bun recipe with you anyway – because it’s really quick and you will likely have the ingredients on hand if you have a box of Mrs. Freshley’s Honey Buns.

Ingredients

  • 4 Mrs. Freshley’s Honey Buns
  • 1/2 Cup Skim Milk
  • 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/8 Tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/8 Tsp Cinnamon
  • 30 Sprays Butter Spray

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Line a large muffin tin with cupcake liners. or grease the tins.
  2. Combine milk, egg, brown sugar, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Mix well.
  3. Cut each Honey Buns into 12th’s and add to milk mixtures.
  4. At this point you would add your raisins, pecans, cranberries and any other filler you choose. Let bread with or without fillers to sit for 15 minutes to soak up the milk mixture.
  5. Spoon bread mixture equally into prepared muffin cups. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until the bread puddings are puffed up and golden brown.
  6. Remove pan from oven and spray each bread pudding with 5 sprays of butter. Allow to cool completely before serving. Serves 6

Doesn’t that sound fantastic? It’s a perfect dessert for fall and winter evenings – warm, gooey, yummy comfort food!

We also tried the Dreamies – a moist and delicious cream-filled cake and the Donut Sticks, which we really enjoyed with coffee in the mornings. We zapped them for about 10 seconds in the microwave for a tasty morning treat.

I love Mrs. Freshley’s orange cupcakes but can not find them in North Texas. I checked everywhere and only Allsup’s convenience store said they might try to order them, any suggestions?
