Poppy is an adorable green balloon, and can be seen as a symbol of the innocent and sweet inner child in all of us. On Poppy’s latest adventure, he meets a fat puppy one day during a visit in the park. The poor puppy is homeless and sad.
Poppy knows that he needs to come to the rescue, so together, they set off on a journey to give the puppy back his happiness. They em”bark” on a plan to feed the puppy healthy food and have him exercise. He even learns how to do a marathon!
And at the end, he gets a new name and a new home! The illustrations in the book are simple and pleasing to the eye, and the story is sweet and would appeal to young children as they see what it means to help someone in need.
