See this? This is a miracle. Well, okay, maybe that’s a bit dramatic, but I absolutely love this little device. It’s about the size of, oh, a box of matches, or a piece of chocolate. What is it? This is a nifty little device that will prevent you from having a really bad (and expensive!) day.
Picture this scenario: you’re sitting in Starbuck’s doing some work. You’ve got your laptop and your cell phone. You’ve got your purse, wallet, etc. You look at your watch and you’re horrified to see that you really got lost in your project and now you’re late for a really important meeting. You grab all your stuff, throw it in your bag and rush to your car. You sit through your 2 hour meeting, get back in your car and decide to call home to see if hubby wants you to pick up take out. You reach for your phone. It’s not there. It’s not in your purse, your tote, your laptop case. You pull over into a parking lot and check in your car. Not there. You call the office where you had your meeting and ask them to check the conference room. Nope. Not there. And guess what? You haven’t backed up all of your contacts or photos that were on that phone. You then remember that you didn’t specifically pick up your phone from the table at Starbuck’s. You call. Not there. It’s gone. For good.
If you’d had this little Nio Tag, this would not have happened. Here’s how it works:
The Nio Tag is basically an alarm system that alerts you when it and one of your valuables becomes parted. You just pair the Nio with your iOS device (like your Smartphone). Then attach the Nio to say, your keys. In the scenario above, if you had walked out of Starbuck’s with the Nio attached to your keys, as soon as you got a little distance away from your phone, the alarm would go off to say, “Hey, idiot…you left your phone!” (It doesn’t actually say that…it just sounds the alarm). And something else that’s great about it being attached to your keys? If you can’t find your keys, all you have to do is activate the app and the Nio will alarm. You’ll be able to find your keys in no time.
I‘m really bad about leaving stuff places. With the Nio, I don’t have to worry. I had a situation just 2 days ago: I’d gone to the market and I stuck my purse in the front of the cart. When I was done, I got my keys and unlocked my car. I loaded the groceries into the trunk, and I saw a friend get out of her car. We stopped and chatted for just a few minutes. I got in my car and started driving away, only to hear an alarm sound. What the heck? I had left my purse sitting right there in the grocery cart! My purse had my phone in it. When my Nio Tag (attached to my keys) discovered that its partner, my phone, was not in close proximity, it sounded the alarm. I had only been away from the cart for a few seconds so it was right where I left it, with my purse sitting right there in it. This could have been a disaster.
This is probably not something that you would necessarily think about for Mother’s Day, but what a thoughtful gift! Especially for a new mom who has to be concerned with all of the baby and kid stuff she has to haul around. You know she’s gonna forget something. And this may sound odd, but you can even attach the Nio tag to one of the kids! If they wander off, you can use the tracking feature on the Nio app to find them quickly.
Check out the Nio tag here and tell us what you think! And in the meantime, take a look at this short video that will show you exactly how it works!
