Turn That Down!

As a parent with kids old enough for video games, movies, music, etc., I cannot count the times that I have said, (or more accurately yelled), “Turn that down!” For some reason, my little guy thinks that if loud is good, then ear-blasting loud is better. Waaaay better. The problem is I just don’t think that I can take one more chorus of “Let It Go” without letting it go myself.

And then we were given the opportunity to try out a pair of these LilGadgets children’s bluetooth headphones. The angel choir immediately started singing in my head. It was going to be blessedly quiet and peaceful. Aaaaah.

Here’s what you need to know: first of all, these headphones are made specifically for kids (although they sound great enough for us grown ups!). One of the first things that I noticed was how well-made these are. You may have some of the cheapo plastic ones that are not really comfortable, but these are the Cadillac of kids’ headphones. They are rounded and really padded well to protect those precious little ears. And because they’re so well-made, they’re super durable. Things that are easily breakable don’t last too long with 7 year old boys!

All of the buttons and controls are on the left earphone and are really easy to handle for my 7 year old. They’re easy to use: an on/off button, the volume button (which is also used to play/pause/forward to next track, etc.) and the phone answer/end call button. And I love the fact that they don’t tangle because they’re wireless! You know that big ball of cords and wires that just stays in the vicinity of your kids’ electronic gadgets? These headphones are not going to add to that mess! And they have a 10 hour battery life. They also come with a cord in case the battery does run down and you need to use them.

So far, he has watched his favorite movies and even listened to a book on tape in the car (courtesy of my phone and the headphones’ bluetooth capabilities). That was a lifesaver this past weekend when we made an out-of-town trip. The sounds are really clean and clear, just as you’d expect from a great pair of headphones. And when he’s done, they come with a great microfiber carrier to keep them protected.

These headphones would make a great gift for your kids (think of it as giving yourself the gift of silence!). They come in four great colors: black, white, blue and pink.
