Pumpkin Torte – Soooo Good!

Thanksgiving just wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without a big ole heaping slice of Pumpkin Pie, right? But let’s go one better. Pumpkin Torte is like Pumpkin Pie to the zillionth degree. It’s Pumpkin Pie on Steroids.

There are several steps to make this scrumptious dessert, but each step is easy, and everyone is going to swoon over this dessert!

What you’ll need: 

2 cups crushed graham crackers
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 eggs, beaten
1 8 ounce package of softened cream cheese
1 can of canned pumpkin puree
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 egg yolks
1/2 cup milk
1 package of unflavored gelatin
1/4 cup water
2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
1/2 cup white sugar

 

First things first, you’ll mix the melted butter, graham crackers and half a cup of sugar together and press into a 9×13 baking dish. Then you’ll mix 2 eggs, 3/4 cup of sugar, and the cream cheese together and put on top of crust and bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. 
Then, you’ll mix three egg yolks, 1 can of pumpkin, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and cook on stove until it thickens (Usually takes 3 or 4 minutes). Add one package of the gelatin in a 1/4 cup of water and mix together and then stir into the pumpkin mixture. 
Beat three egg whites and 1/4 cup of sugar with a mixer for five minutes then fold into pumpkin. Pour on top of Cream Cheese mixture and cool. After it cools, top it with whipped topping. And that’s it!
