one last thing

I have to admit, when I received this book for review, I was surprised that one of the authors was Rebecca St. James. I thought, “It couldn’t be the Rebecca St. James that was such a popular Christian music artist awhile back…could it?” I flipped to the back of the book where the authors’ bios are found, and sure enough – it was! Then (and I’m ashamed to admit) I thought, “Okay. She was a huge recording artist. She’s probably not a very good author.” Now is when I eat a big ole serving of crow. Because this book was good!

It’s always hard to do a book review without giving too much away, but here’s the premise of the story: Tara Faulkner was on the verge of having everything she ever wanted, including a fabulous fairytale wedding to (of course) her childhood sweetheart. Who treated her like a Disney princess. And of course he looked like a Disney Prince. They were busily planning the upcoming wedding, moving things into their ultra nice town home in one of Savannah’s toniest areas, and life was just peachy.

But three weeks before the wedding, Tara discovers something about Seth (the prince) that changes everything. It will affect the wedding plans, her career, his career, and even family relationships.

St. James and Rue handle this difficult subject with grace and sensitivity. And it’s a subject that many people deal with, so you will find it relevant to today’s world. I can tell you it’s very common – it’s not like Seth is a murderer or drug dealer – no – this problem is much more common and much more insidious.

I had a hard time putting this book down, because every time poor Tara thought things were as bad as they could get, another bomb would drop.
