This little guy will be eight in a few short weeks, and he loves comic books. He also loves Veggie Tales. Well, as he puts it, “A comic book and Veggie Tales got married and here it is!” Okay, that’s a good way to put it.

These new Veggie Tales SuperComics are big, slick comic books guaranteed to draw your child’s interest and delight, and unlike other comic books, I don’t even have to worry about any kind of questionable content that may be in there. That is great for us moms and dads who are guarding little minds and hearts.

Each comic book brings back some well-loved Veggies and you’ll meet some new ones, too. In volume one, our little guy was thrilled to see Lyle the Kindly Viking and Dave and the Giant Pickle. He already knows and loves these stories, so seeing them in a different light through a comic book was a ton of fun for him. Lyle the Kindly Viking teaches some valuable lessons on sharing and Dave, in all of his pickly wisdom (would that be pickledom?) show us the story of David and Goliath – a story of exceptional faith.

Although the characters are well known, they have a little bit of an updated appearance in the comic series. They’re a bit ‘slicker’. Your kids will find fun, bright colors and easy-to-follow panels. Sometimes in comic books, the conversation bubbles are a little hard to follow for little guys, but Big Idea Entertainment (the parents of the Veggies) has put a lot of thought and care into how to make these comics easy to understand and follow for kids.

Even beginning readers will enjoy these. The eye-catching pictures of the veggies’ silly actions and antics, and their priceless facial expressions make these comics a fun read for almost any age child. And with each comic providing about 100 pages of fun, your children will enjoy them for hours.

Veggie Tales SuperComics are available at Family Christian Stores.
