The audience waited in eager anticipation. Everyone in the room could feel a palpable excitement, an expectation that something amazing was about to occur before their very eyes. And not a single soul was disappointed by Cirque du Soleil’s breathtaking show, OVO.
Ovo has been performed for more than 4.5 million people worldwide after its premier in Montreal in 2009 and now OVO is bringing this same incredible production to towns all over, giving families the opportunity to experience the phenomenon that is Cirque du Soleil.
“Ovo” means egg in Portuguese. And let’s face it, a lot of our companion creatures get their start right inside this very oval. The show is a non-stop amalgam of movement and dancing and acrobatic feats that you’ve never seen before and could not have conceived or imagined. This teeming ecosystem of creatures is surprised one day by an egg that appears in their midst, and they’re outrageously curious about this object that represents life to them.
But don’t think that there’s no story here: au contraire! An adorable ladybug and her companion embark on a journey of love and the whole audience falls in love right along with them.
The cast of “OVO” is comprised of 50 performing artists from 12 countries and the highlight of the show for us was what appeared to be a “Trapeze” act…only without the Trapeze.

There are so many words that could describe this show: beautiful, sensual, exciting, physical, intense, entertaining…I could go on and on.
If you have the opportunity to see this show, run, don’t walk to grab your tickets. You won’t be disappointed! To see if OVO is coming to a venue near you, click here.
